ImageViewerCMPlugIn ReviewGreat Image Viewer - Version: 2.3, 11/10/2006 06:01AM PST

Welles Goodrich
As a graphic artist who runs through great numbers of images, I've always used some contextual menu for quickly viewing images. Until my Mac Pro, I used Hide Itoh's great series of contextual menus (and found them so valuable that I donated $10 for each of them) but they broke on my Mac Pro. I just 'discovered' ImageViewerCMPlugin and was delighted. Not only does it replace three of Hide's individual CMPs but displays more image types and additionally allows drilling down directories. This is a very valuable item for any professional or enthusiast who sees a great many images and for whom time and simplicity counts. For it's functionality, the price is very modest.

Thanks Arthur for the personal touch, Now the installer has gone
and I actually got to review 'ImageViewerCMPlugIn' - I did feel
it was a very modern, clean and simple design - very similar
to the 'in beta/freeware' PicturePopPro' :

http://www.setnan.org/mac/PicturePopPro/

A fellow french programmer made product that is nearly identical
to ImageViewerCM. I would like the option to just show the files
I selected rather than every file in that folder and if using
the cursor and you are using the forward/backwards buttons and
want to quit the viewer every icon lights up on your way to the quit
button ( big slowdown when showing lots of large images). But all
in all it's a very ingenious little image viewer that I could quite easily
recommend but not the programmers obtuse francophile style
attitude.

... and Arthur, I didn't spoil your 'reviews' - you did by releasing
software that didn't work. Alert site admin if you must.

Hi Lex, seems you have learned the copy and paste thing... good for you. If you don't like my software, do NOT use it. And stop spoiling the reviews or I will alert a site admin.

Felt a little awkward reviewing a piece of shareware
I hadn't tested so I tried ImageViewerCM and
" ..clicked on View pictures in 'Folder'... but
nothing happened"

Firstly I tried installing with Pacifist - that didn't
work. so I have reinstalled version 1.2 twice more using
the supplied installer, the second time with a restart and
still nothing. I then moved the plugin into the 'users' CM
folder in the users library folder - still nothing after another
login.

No mention on the developers site as to the changes of
this latest version (1.2) - but whatever they are, they
don't seem to be working.

Don't know who should feel more foolish, the developer
for charging for software that doesn't work or me for
wasting time on testing it or giving him and his software
another chance.

While I am all for competition, QuickImageCM
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19253
Is by far a better choice - a veritable photoshop
-in-a-CMMplugin. It has more options, has been
in development longer and is freeware. Plus
Mr.Hide Itoh is one of the kindest, most talented
programmers/artists working 'for/with' the mac today.

QuickImageCM is easily installed, does not require an
installer and for you to enter your system password and
therefore not a security risk. Why smalltime developers
make installers for their software when it's not needed
is always annoying and suspicious.

Also try Mr.Hide Itoh's other freeware CMM's
PhotoToolCM 2.0, QuickPlayCM 1.1 and FinderIconCM 2.4

ImageViewerCMPlugIn ReviewIncredible app - Version: 1.0, 3/15/2005 03:23PM PST

Thib's Web
It would be hard to build a better diaporama tool and image display program. Very practical and convenient, in fact I felt in love with it 10 secs after the first launch and paid for it 3 minutes after.

HIGLY recommended.
