Dear thinkingmac1,
we fully understand your comment, but we need to clarify the described situation:
In fact, you failed to reach us by phone. This is due to our internet connection managed by 1&1. This company sub-contracted Telefonica, which in turn provided connectivity and IPs.
Unfortunately, Telefonica failed to set up our connection correctly. Due to this fact, all our phone lines - which are connected using VoIP - got immediately dropped, when customers tried to call. This problem persisted for an enormous long time. For short period of time - 10 minutes to an hour - systems appeared to work correctly, but failed again.
You might easily verify this fact, since more or less all '77.*.*.*' IPs from Telefonica failed to handle VoIP correctly. Additionally, '77' IPs failed to connect to certain web-servers or IPs. A huge number of german forum users reported this problem.
Since 2 days, 1&1 assigned a new IP and everything switched back to normal mode.
You wrote, that other companies automatically prepare serial. This is correct.
Our privacy policy prevents this mode, since all your personal data is managed in a private network. Thus, we don't generate licenses automatically.
Additionally, we often get incomplete orders. Thus we often need to negotiate certain details.
Again, please excuse the delay!
Kind regards and Merry Christmas,
turingart

Is this firm thrustworthy? - Version: 1.8.0, 12/15/2006 03:57AM PST

Yesterday morning I purchased a Licence of AB Transfer, paid with Paypal. I didnt got a serial yet so I wrote an email to their support and in the afternoon also at their sales and some other email accounts. Because it's a german company and I'm living in Germany too, I also tried calling them at the tel.nr. of their website, but all day long (!), I only heared a busy tone...
Well today it's still the same; no way to reach them by telefone and they still don't reply at emails.
Ok, I must admit, I only tried for 2 days now, and perhaps I should wait a few more days... But other software companys are able to reply instantly after a Paypal payment, better even automatically send a valid serial.
And what is the point why someone should buy this software? It's purpose is to be an easy and fast way to export addressbooks entrys in other formats as the standard vcard format Apple offers.
That's why I purchased it; while I need to do this fast! There are other methods for getting this export done, maybe not that easy and fast, but in the end it's faster then waiting for a serial that doesn't seem to come...

Act! import is no longer part of the current releases of AB Transfer. In case you order the 'Act! edition' of AB Transfer, you'll actually receive licenses, which are applicable to these AB Transfer editions:
- AB Transfer for Act! - release 1.6.x
- AB Transfer - current (base) edition
Thus, although you need to use release 1.6.x to import Act!, you additionally are welcome to use the current release too.
The current edition e.g. allows to scan Apple.Mail mailboxes and retrieve TO, FROM and BCC address fields of email messages. This scanning process is very fast.
Additionally, please note, that we never asked our AB Transfer customers to buy upgrades. In fact, we ship free upgrades since ever.
