Inkscape does this and it's more mature--not to mention open-source and free.

This downloads an .exe file. I thought this was listed as Mac software.

Sketsa ReviewWorks fine for me - Version: 3.1.1, 4/25/2005 09:38PM PST

on 10.3.9 with latest java updates....installed and ran from java webstart.
However, the UI is a little sloppy (poor casing and layout of properties for example). I think it's a little pricey for it's apparently non-unique capabilities. Interesting if you need a cross platform way to make SVG...for me, I'll stick with the rich Illustrator environment which can export to SVG and SVG compressed.

Hmmm.. that's another 20 minutes of my life I obviously didn't need. Downloaded and installed and managed to launch the app but hey presto, no tool options were selectable. Went back to the developer's site and read that OSX installs via the web are recommended. Fair enough, off I go, still no selectable tools. It's probably my fault but in this crazy life, who's got time to sort it.
