Very Enlightening

This is a nice little tool that explains a lot (to me) about why my disks keep getting "full". I like the simple uncluttered display and operation. I do hopethe developer will resist the temptation to add bells, whistles, foghorns, ringtones and iCal integration!
Huh?

To Nostromo1965: Name calling because someone likes how the program works is just gratuitous; your French translation analogy is just silly. But giving it one star because you like cmd-j is disgusting.
DooBar, while not fancy, does several things your revered apple-j doesn't do:
1. Shows the Volumes level without my having to select Go -> Go to Folder -> and type in /Volumes/
2. Shows invisible folders & files, which Finder windows do not
3. Means I DON'T have to alter the way my windows look using Show View Options
I use cmd-j plenty (and it works just fine when I do use) but calculating folder sizes on large disks is slow. DooBar can just sit in the background, letting me see my file allocation whenever I get around to it.
I'd give it 3 stars because it's free, it works, it easy to use, and DOESN'T mean I have to alter how all my windows display, which cmd-j does, but I'm giving it 4 to compensate for your self-aggrandizing remarks and 1-star rating, both of which are completely uncalled for.
I'd like it to be a lot faster and have the ability to delete files. Also the fact that the Finder and DooBar's calculations are off in some instances concerns me. Other than that, it's a beta program that's free so I think it's fair to let the developer get USEFUL feedback to see where it goes.

Never heard of the developer until I downloaded the software. I used it, it helped me track something down quickly, I felt compelled to comment.
I understand that most freeware is something that a person writes because it has a use to them. They share it with others in case someone else has a use for it. Having written code myself, I appreciate the effort, even if I don't have a use for the output.
This being said, I generally avoid reading the comments on this site, as I personally find them unhelpful. A great many of them seem to be written by people who have too much free time and think they're a wit. If I find a piece of FREE software that I don't have a use for and don't like, I just don't use it.
