DieticianX Reviewversion 2.3.3 of DieticianX is now available - Version: 2.3.1, 11/13/2007 07:16PM PST

version 2.3.3 of DieticianX is now available at http://web.mac.com/dhoffmann1/iWeb/Web-Site/Dietician%20X.html

It seems significantly improved since version 2.3.1 - I haven't really tried it very much yet. However, I am quite disappointed to not have found a glycemic index calculation (especially since the ads emphasize this program's special usefulness to diabetics.)

And by all means, do pay an exorbitant ammount of money in $ to use it. That will help a lot...the developer.

It as described, has not been seem to be at all. Many english is not to this day been approved short or long. I am, not.

Well, if you like the above, by all means, buy this "useful" software. And HOPE it actually has foods from USA listed, too.

This software looks promising but the light version is of a demo or crippleware than an actually useful tool for reviewing one's diet. It would help tremendously if there was some sort of tooltip help that could help the novice understand just what steps are needed to create a profile and what order of data entry is needed. Perhaps a stepped-entry of data would be more useful here (?). As it is, it is rather confusing. Making the GUI more friendly would go a long way in improving this application. It is a good start though.

DieticianX Reviewdoesn't work on OS X 10.3.9 - Version: 1.3, 5/25/2005 01:31AM PST

It doesn't bother to look for its database in the folder it was launched from.
Even if that folder happens to be ~/Applications/Dieticial X/

Unusable even when it does find it's database.
Clicked items change to something else, and the window scrolls right to the top.
Clicking on an item I have searched for does nothing.

Totally brain damaged and untested.

Now there is no installer pkg and the functioning of the program is considerably improved. It is now useful and the English translation appears to have been helped. Not at all bad for freeware.

First I'm presented with a package installer...WTF? What does this app need to put on my system? Using Pacifist I determine that it wants to install the application in my Applications folder, and it wants to put a "datapack" into my system preferences. Why the h3ll cant it put it's datapack in my Home preferences, or better yet, just bundle it with the application? Furthermore, there is nothing in the datapack's name or contents that identify it as being the property of Dietician, so if I hadn't searched the package I wouldn't have known it was there. Not cool.

After going through all this BS to install a simple app, I launch it. It chokes. "The application Databasell has unexpectedly quit." Everything is where it should be, but it refuses to run. Throw it all in the trash and that's 10 minutes of my time wasted, by a stupid app that tried to own my system. Poor effort on the part of the developers. I suspect they're used to developing for Windows.
