Cover Version ReviewHighly recommended - Version: 1.0, 9/12/2009 09:31AM PST

Why on earth didn't Apple build this kind of thing into iTunes? If you ever wanted to sing along to your songs in iTunes it's a must-have.

It's simple, reasonably attractive and customisable. If I was being fussy I would say that the lyrics tend to look a bit squashed up against the top of the window – an extra bit of space at the top (and at the bottom when the lyrics are long, or you have the artist/title displaying) wouldn't go astray.

I'm using it along with the 'Get Lyrical' app, which finds lyrics from the Internet and automatically adds them to iTunes. The combination of these two programs, 'Get Lyrical' and 'Cover Version' is a nice solution.

I'm getting lyrics for the wrong song. Problem with Cover Version or with my computer? Suggestions on how to fix? Neat product. I'd like to get it working.

Thanks!

Cover Version ReviewWhy would you want the lyrics on top of the artwork? - Version: 1.6.1, 11/25/2007 12:14PM PST

That makes it harder to read. Why not move the artwork over to one side or the other at a slight angle into the distance, and then have the lyrics on the other side of the screen unobstructed... Seems like that would be much better. And put the song name at the top above the lyrics...

Cover Version Reviewthis is great! - Version: 1.6.1, 11/6/2007 09:34AM PST

Still photos don't do this justice.
The cube and the flag are fantastic.

Two small requests:
• can we get the kaleidoscope to animate?
• can we get an option to have them alternate?
[i.e., first song gets cube... next song gets flag... etc.]

Anyway, *THANKS* for what it does now.

The problem of this visualizer is that it only displays lyrics written in roman letters - otherwise, it would have been a five stars!

Works great. But I wish there was a way to have a simple cut instead of the fade to black between each song. I'm using it to study languages with many short clips accompanied by photos, and it's very annoying to fade in and out. Is it possible to turn off the fading transition?

Cover Version Usage TipOS X 10.3 recommanded? - Version: 1.1, 3/10/2006 10:43AM PST

This plug-in works fine on my little G3 400Mhz. Regarding those who have problems on OS 10.2.8: maybe Panther is recommanded. I use 10.3.9 with iTunes 6.0.4.

There's a weird behaviour with the cubic mode when artwork is too large: the cube seems to open itself in some places to see it from inside. It's cool somehow but I don't think it's on purpose.
To correct this, simply check "maximum size". This setting has a wrong name. It should be "optimize size" or "fit to screen". Actually, it resizes the artwork: little ones become bigger and too big ones become smaller.

If you like this, you should test "JewelCase". I use both !! I'm a geek, I know, but I'm not ashamed !
