Product Description:
Interarchy is a powerful, flexible, award-winning Internet application for Mac OS X. Interarchy can download and upload files via FTP (the Internet standard File Transfer Protocol), SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol), and WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning), as well as secure forms of FTP such as FTP/SSH and FTP/SSL-TLS, and secure forms of WebDAV over HTTPS. In addition, it can download files or whole websites using HTTP (the HyperText Transfer Protocol) and the secure HTTPS, provide a wealth of information about your Internet connection, and help you work with remote servers across the Internet.
Interarchy is the most powerful software in its class, and has won numerous awards throughout its ten year history, including nominations for the 1999 and 2000 MacWorld Editors' Choice Awards. As early as 1994, Interarchy (then called Anarchie) was seen on the McNeil-Lehrer TV show. The Interarchy User Group has an active user base of over 1,000 members whose input has resulted in an incredibly user-friendly and effective tool.
What's new in this version:
Interarchy 8 follows on the long history of improvements to provide a host of new features. Interarchy is now built for Mac OS X 10.3.9+ only, including Tiger and Intel. Major new features in Interarchy 8 include:
- WebDAV support, including iDisk.
- HTTPS.
- New Connection window that combines most of the various initial actions.
- Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel native code.
- Automator Actions (Download, List, Upload).
- Dashboard Widgets (Bookmark, Network Status).
- FTP/SSL-TLS.
- HTTP Authentication.
- Combined Mirror Reports window.
- UTF-8 support everywhere.
- Mirror Dry Run.
- Preserve permissions and dates in SFTP.
- Merge/Overwrite/Ask/Abort for folder uploads.

PeterNSteinmetzInterarchy has been a great ftp and file transfer client, no doubt. We have to see if the new developer will keep up good work, or has just been trying to grab upgrade fees.
Cannot recommend at this time.

However, with version 9, the application changed hands to a new developer (Nolobe). Whilst this has brought improvements to the product, I discovered several bugs (some of them serious crashing bugs) and e-mailed the developer/support about them. 3 months later, I haven't heard a single word from them, and there have been absolutely no updates to this application. This situation seriously brings into question the developer's commitment to the product, and to the actual feasibility of using it going forward.
I'd say if you're interested in purchasing this, don't buy it until the developer shows some signs of supporting it.
