Product Description:

With Interarchy you can efficiently and reliably get, edit or post files to any kind of Internet server. Common uses include setting up web sites, long-distance transfer of data or remote server administration. Interarchy supports all the common Internet protocols including FTP, SFTP, HTTP, ping, traceroute and DNS. Because Interarchy is standards-compliant it will work with servers running on any operating system including Windows and Unix.

Interarchy delivers on the promise of streamlining complex file transfer needs. Interarchy allows you to control every aspect of the file transfer process. It gives you auxilary testing tools to help diagnose connection problems with your server. It offers a variety of automation features that allow you to cache, group, queue, delay and repeat transfers all within a familiar Mac OS Finder-like interface. Interarchy integrates tightly with your web browser, the Finder, text editors and other tools to let you get your job done easily.

What's new in this version:

  • There is now an 'interarchy' command-line tool bundled with Interarchy so for example, you can send Interarchy links to download from the command-line. It is in the Extras folder.
  • A new auto-installing InterarchyCMPlugin technology that allows you to Control-click on links and URLs in other applications (such as Internet Explorer or BBEdit) and get a contextual menu command "Get URL with Interarchy".
  • The SFTP Mirroring engine has been made more efficient.
  • There is an advanced command-line tool also included called 'icutil' which you can use to explore and modify your internet config settings, the part of your system that maps protocols and helpers to applications and stores other special settings. It is in the Extras folder.
  • You can now remove (Command-Delete) the "Rendezvous" folder, "Scheduled Bookmarks" folder, or the "FTP Disks" folder from the Bookmarks window - for those users that don't use some or all of them and don't want them cluttering their Bookmarks.
  • The Go menu has been renamed to Bookmarks, and the Organizer window has also been renamed to Bookmarks. This is to make it more consistent and easier to understand what they do and the connection between them.
  • Keyboard shortcuts, like Command-DownArrow, have been made to work in Column view.
  • Mirroring now understands and handles remote links on your server.
  • You can now copy Rendezvous urls from the Bookmarks window.
  • Interarchy now fully supports ELFP and SuperDOS FTP servers.
  • When upgrading your preferences folder Interarchy now moves things like the Home Items folder, Home Items (Disabled) folder, and Bookmarks (Disabled) folder from your old version into the Bookmarks folder.
  • Click-renaming in the Bookmarks window has been made to work properly.
  • Rendezvous support now correctly handles services with custom port numbers.
  • There was a problem with renaming multiple files under Mac OS 9 that has been addressed.
  • Rendezvous support
  • Doesn't require administrator password to install
  • SFTP set permissions fixed.
  • Correctly handles option-return in listing window address field.
  • Correctly support for &, { and &x12; in strings in html

Interarchy ReviewGreat application, but where are the updates; where is the developer/support? - Version: 9.0, 4/9/2008 11:24AM PST

I've been a long-time user of Interarchy since about version 3... The developer of this software up until version 8 (Peter N Lewis) was fantastic. Whenever I found bugs I would e-mail the developer and they would invariably try to fix them and often respond straight away to find out more details of the problem. The updates would be regular and thorough - usually eliminating problems quickly. For this, I remained loyal, knowing that the developer stood behind their product.

However, with version 9, the application changed hands to a new developer (Nolobe). Whilst this has brought improvements to the product, I discovered several bugs (some of them serious crashing bugs) and e-mailed the developer/support about them. 3 months later, I haven't heard a single word from them, and there have been absolutely no updates to this application. This situation seriously brings into question the developer's commitment to the product, and to the actual feasibility of using it going forward.

I'd say if you're interested in purchasing this, don't buy it until the developer shows some signs of supporting it.

Interarchy ReviewNot ready for prime time - Version: 9.0, 4/8/2008 04:29PM PST

This upgrade has been a serious disappointment. Their forum was full of complaints, but they've taken it down now for maintenance. I would be very cautious about this new developer, until we see an upgrade for some of these bugs.

Interarchy has been a great ftp and file transfer client, no doubt. We have to see if the new developer will keep up good work, or has just been trying to grab upgrade fees.

Cannot recommend at this time.

I've used Interarchy since its days as Anarchy (v1.4), and this is the best update EVER! Faster, easier to use. Just works.
