Interarchy ReviewThe days of Interarchy are over. - Version: 9.0.1, 5/7/2008 07:39AM PST

Sorry, but now I killed the app from my Mac. I used Interarchy since nearly 10 years, but it gets worse and worse. Why is there a version 9 at all? Why did we have to wait for a 9.0.1 update that long? And why didn't the "big 9.0.1 update" change the stability issues at all? When I try to transmit bigger files (50 MByte ZIPs), the transfer stops at the end, the app hangs and crashes, and the file is damaged. Every time. Regardless the "active/passive" mode.
There is still a useless, half-programmed "view options" window (it's there since version 8) that no one else would dare to publish in an alpha version. The answer of the author: "I'll make a note of this and see what I can do." - There you are. No more money from me.

Interarchy is fast and reliable. I have to use FTP everyday, uploading, downloading, syncing - I've never had a problem. Try a simple A - B comparison for speed against other FTP apps and you'll see it's lean and fast, one sign of good, unbloated programming.

Not sure what Graphex problem is, click on his name and check his previous posts, he's just a spammer - probably was him spamming posts over and over on the forum like he's done here on VersionTracker - don't have to scratch much below the surface to see where he's coming from.

Interarchy ReviewBe wary of developer - Version: 9.0.1, 4/24/2008 03:19AM PST

The 9.0.1 update does fix some bugs and address a few complaints, but doesn't address many of the problems people had been pointing out on the developer's forum.

I would caution people to read the comments from users on the developer's forum... but they can't because it has been taken offline (for "maintenance"). Even while it was still up, there was lots of censorship and I suspect a good number of fake positive posts. Even with that, you could see that many users have been unhappy with the whole 9.x experience, and the way Nolobe/Matthew Drayton responded to his users.

That said, 9.0.1 _is_ a step in the right direction, but I've lost respect for the developer. Mr. Drayton has to work much harder to earn that back. Shuttering your forums and rick-rolling your "mailing list" links are two steps in the wrong direction. At some point customer service has to be improved and the updates need to come more quickly. We were promised a network traffic monitor months ago to replace the feature that was removed from Interarchy, and that hasn't appeared.
