Rubik ReviewNice App/Game - Version: 1.1.5, 3/1/2005 02:23PM PST

After a small issue, I was able to get Rubik running just fine. Ivan, the author, was quite helpful. Nice job. Now all you have to do is solve it without cheating

Rubik ReviewBrings back memories - Version: 1.1.5, 2/24/2005 08:05AM PST

Rubik's cube is fun to play with and very elegantly done. Brings back very old memories of disassembling my first cube, putting Vaseline on the sliding surfaces and making it fly. I could usually solve them, but I had a nephew that could fly through them at age 7. A funny skill. Congratulations on a nice implementation. Works very well in OS X 10.3.8 and the price is certainly right.

Rubik CommentaryIt works for me - Version: 1.1, 2/19/2005 12:22AM PST

10.3.8, PB 15" 1.5GHz, 512MB RAM

The cube rotation is a bit flaky, however. It doesn't let you rotate the cube 360° in certain directions (I'm talking about the cube itself here, not individual sides). Also, when I finally solve the cube, the centers don't always match up (due to the texture being hilighted on one side--may I suggest lighting effects? ;-)

All in all a good start, but the rotation issue can get a bit irritating.

I'm investigating this interesting bug. The app runs in many desktop/PBs computers, except, in computers that have 1Gb of ram or more (seems to be), as far as I can tell from the users feedback.

I like it.. very smooth implementation. Only thing i don't like is the keys that have been selected. Maybe people could get it after many hours, but people will get frustrated before they get the hang of it.

My suggestion is to use a modifier key.. like control, or right click, to move that row or column instead of moving the cube. might need 2 modifier keys and have one set for vertical one set to horizontal.

Only other request while I'm thinking about it is to put scroll mouse functionality in it. :) just to make it faster. you can do the cube pretty fast with your hands. It would nice to be able to have the same feeling on the computer.

Warning to cube users: Faster is not ALWAYS better, but in this case.. a little faster would be nice.
