I've been using SaveMe for 3 years and it still comes in handy. I use the "Save As" function to save iterations as a I work, so I can go back in time easily when a history panel hasn't been supplied with the product. I just name them and add a,b,c as I work, and trash them at the end of the work day. It's saved me when some complex coding has gotten messed up, or I mistakenly deleted a timeline or layer.
It does need to be reset from time to time, but I'm only using it for a few critical applications so it's not a problem.

I've paid for version 1.3.1. this program works great as long as you don't change focus. Once focus is changed the only way to get automatic saving again is to reset the save interval.... for each and every program and for each and every time focus is changed!!
the software is a more than a waste of time, it get's in the way and creates more work.
I wish I hadn't paid now.

This function was available in the old Save reminder in Now Utilities; and also as part of Word 5.
I primarily use text-based programs, so it's a nuisance to have to go to the mouse to click the button. There may be some inherent problem in OS X which precludes this.
I suppose there may be some advantage to be able to continue working wihtout having to dismiss the dialog, whereas the old Save Reminders didn't allow activity until they were dismissed. Ideally there could be an addditional preference which selects one of these two modes.
