Product Description:

BOINC Menubar (formerly Deep Thought) is a front end for BOINC, a software platform developed at Berkeley which allows volunteers such as yourself to contribute unused processor cycles to help solve problems in physics, medicine, climatology, astronomy, and more. Combining tens of thousands of computers, BOINC users form what is effectively the most powerful supercomputer on the planet.

BOINC Menubar provides a simple interface for BOINC, eliminating the need for any command-line typing. It does not have a main window, application menu, or dock icon. Instead, everything is controlled from a small icon which appears in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Clicking on this icon produces a menu which provides you access to all the features of BOINC Menubar.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

BOINC ReviewVersions 6.10.17 and 6.10.21 seem fine on Intel - Version: 6.10.21, 12/2/2009 07:36PM PST

No problems here, except that it won't allow me to change the label color in Finder, because if I modify permissions to allow me to change it, then the program won't run again even if I change the permissions back?

BOINC Troubleshooting ReportStill No Good with Intel - Version: 6.10.17, 11/2/2009 12:40PM PST

This still causes sudden system restarts under 10.6.2 and earlier. There is nothing in system.log to help identify the problem. It is NOT compatible with this Intel iMac. It still runs fine on my powermac.
