Wacom Tablet CommentaryYet another Wacom Rough Cut - Version: 6.1.2-5(RC), 11/2/2009 09:08PM PST

With so many top shelf artists working exclusively on Mac OS X I have no idea why Wacom consistently puts out such horrible software to negatively complement their hardware. Then again the drivers could be just as terrible on the Win side, but I'd sell my soul before ever finding out firsthand.

FYI - Release candidate:

The term release candidate (RC) refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization (read QA cycle), all product features have been designed, coded and tested through one or more Beta cycles with no known showstopper-class bug.

Wacom Tablet Commentarywhat in the world is going on with the versions??? - Version: 6.1.0-5(RC), 11/26/2008 07:45AM PST

i have wacom v6.0.5-3 installed for my Intous 3, but VTP says i should ? downgrade ??? to v.6.0.5-2, and i see that on this page these have been overtaken by 2 further updates 6.1.0

i AM using a power PC mac, so maybe i should not be looking at these 2 later versions

(what IS RC anyway?)

but i am STILL puzzled why i should go from -3 to -2

or has wacom decided that later versions count DOWN to the next stage????

EXTREMELY confusing!

With the last 2 or 3 versions of the driver, my pen doesn't release itself, causing all sorts of bad pen strokes and commands.

It doesn't happen on my friend's PowerBook G4 running the same OS and applications.

Wacom Tablet CommentaryShould work with 10.3.9 - Version: 6.08-2, 6/19/2008 11:05AM PST

Although the VersionTracker page says 6.08-2 only works with 10.4 and up, Wacom's page for the driver says it will work with 10.3.9 as well.

Wacom Tablet CommentaryFixed Intuos GD problem in 10.5.3 - Version: 6.08-2, 6/19/2008 07:19AM PST

The previous driver wouldn't load on my Mac Pro until about a minute after boot, then all was well.
With the 6.08 - 2 driver, the tablet is recognized immediately. Took a while for this update, but seems well engineered.

Wacom Tablet ReviewUNinstall first! - Version: 6.05-3, 12/8/2007 07:40AM PST

To make this work I found that runing the Wacom Tbalet UNinstaller first and then this installer version makes things work fine again.
So, UNinstall first (look in your Programms folder for Wacom uninstaller)
