Product Description:

SJphone is a VOIP softphone that allows you to speak with any PC, PDA, stand-alone IP-phone and with any legacy wired or mobile phone (using your VOIP gateway or purchasing service from Internet Telephony Service Provider). It supports both SIP and H.323 standards and is fully interoperable with most major IP-telephony vendors and ITSP.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or later
  • A wideband internet connection like DSL, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, or an old good wired Ethernet or E1/T1. Dial-up users are welcome too, but a Speex, GSM, or iLBC codec must be used.
  • Full-duplex sound is a must. To check it, run a recorder and player at the same time. If the both work properly, you have a full-duplex soundcard, that's OK.

SJphone CommentaryDoes it work? - Version: 277a, 7/13/2005 03:47PM PST

D Smith
Can't seem to get this to work. Won't dial - "Can't dial in current configuration" as soon as I type anything in the dial field. I don't see where to configure SIP parameters, e.g. server address, user, password...so how does it register?

Better sound-quality and much more ram- and cpu-friendly than X-lite.

Needs Adressbook implementation!!

SJphone ReviewGood Alternative to X-Lite - Version: 256b, 3/24/2005 05:44PM PST

More stable on my configuration (imac g3) than x-lite.

Interface is not very attractive but works.

Lacks support of importing Adressbook
