24 Clock Troubleshooting ReportNo Joy Yet (23:36:11 GMT) - Version: 1.0, 1/30/2005 04:29PM PST

Mr Tea

OK, so, clicking on the links still doesn't work, but right-clicking and choosing "save linked file as..." gets the download. Yay! I rejoice! I unstuff the file! But....

When I double click on the file, it does the little 'application opening' zoom thing, then nothing. Check in activity monitor, nope, not running. Where is it? What's going wrong. (All this on OS X 10.3.7/G4 867/1.5GB Ram)

Can we get Chloe in on this? Maybe she can figure out where the glitch is.

24 Clock Developer NoteDownload back up! - Version: 1.0, 1/30/2005 03:51PM PST

The download link for 24 Clock is back up. Unfortunately, it wasn't a bandwidth problem but an admin cock-up at the host's end. Angry e-mails abound.

24 Clock CommentaryAnnoying, yes... - Version: 1.0, 1/29/2005 10:12PM PST

But here are some suggestions to make it actually useful as well as cool, the key being to keep it silent except for specific events:
- Have it make that noise once an hour instead, for the last four seconds before the hour (or optionally every 15 minutes or half hour).
- Make it translucent (with opacity slider of course).
- Give it an alarm clock feature - have its digital display pop up at a user-set time and play four ticks.
- Keep it silent until you click on its display, at which time it plays four ticks. (Call it affirmation!)
- Is there some way to hook it into iCal's alarm feature? Substitute it into the "Message with sound" reminder.

24 Clock CommentaryI LOVE THIS APP! - Version: 1.0, 1/29/2005 09:17PM PST

Yes, it is silly and annoying for more than uh, 24 seconds, but it's cool and--bonus-- it has an excellent icon.

Fun program for 24 fans. Absolutely useless, but completely perfect.

24 Clock CommentaryI smell a Dashboard widget - Version: 1.0, 1/29/2005 04:48PM PST

Damien Sorresso
This is annoying when running continuously, but I could see it being really damn cool as a Dashboard widget.
