Obviously not what I wanted. The one linked on this page is squatting the name of the science program, regardless of what the programmer rationalizes.

Dear Developer

Nice try, but the name Treeview appeared on the Mac platform long before you wrote the app for the mac. I am not trying to mess with you, but you have ported an app from other OSes and given it a name that was already taken on the mac platform .Some companies sue over such matters. Perhaps you might call it "Finder Treeview" - after all that is what it does. The original BioSciences Treeview views phylogenetic trees ...

Bjrn Eirksson (Einhugur Software)
To the post bellow then refer to TreeView in the Windows API, TreeView in .NET, TreeView in OLE, TreeView in JAVA, TreeView in Gdk, TreeViews as programming language user interface controls have existed since beginning of Window based operating systems and will continue to do so, there is nothing you, me or anyone else can do to change their names, this is the programming term for it regardless if you like it or not. What is silly is the use of this name for the application that you mention given that the developer for that App is well aware of the use of this term as programming term. Now please stop posting this here or at very least direct your complaints to those who decided that this should be the programming term for a tree control some decades ago, i.e Microsoft probably.
