Product Description:

Choose two folders, and this program will synchronize the contents. At this stage, files with the same name are compared and if they differ, the user has to decide what to do with them. Folders contained within the user-selected folders are synchronized recursively. I wrote this program in order to be able to create simple backups and to accomplish mirroring of my USB keychain drive.

What's new in this version:

Eliminated an erroneous dependency on a library that was creating error messages.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

Have used this with i photo and was a bit anxious as the comments are not encouraging.
Found that although a little slower wll update photos and comments on my i photo library housed on an external hard drive and worked ok but slightly slow

Use a tiger 10.4.6
Did not have any problems apart from an error message if the program is not closed from the menue

Hope someone find a way to enhance this softwae as it is simple to use and up dates exactly what it states!

OK, let me begin by saying that I have never bothered to review software. If I like it, I like it and if I don't, I toss it. But this software has screwed up my entire computer, something nothing has ever been able to do.

Like the previous reviewer, this software filled my disk drive. And I lost my ability to navigate through folders or anything at a normal speed. I got the spinning wheel of death. After verifying permissions and running disk first aid, I now have a useless computer that won't start up.

I blame this software because everything else was working fine before. Stay away.

Running OS 10.4.2 on a G4

Synchronize Folders ReviewOK, but needs tweaking - Version: 0.6.1, 5/9/2005 04:30PM PST

Interface is rough around the edges (e.g. refers to LEFT and RIGHT selections, clearly should be TOP and BOTTOM, etc) with limited but sufficient options.

In use, I frequently got an Applescript Timed Out error when synchronising a folder that required more than about 90 seconds of copying. When this happens, the current folder finishes copying OK, but the Applescript aborts so any folders not yet synchronised are ignored! Furthermore, the app still thinks the Applescript is running, so the only way to start again is to quit the app.

Would be easy enough to fix these problems I imagine. How about it? I could then give this 4 stars....
