If you check out items from your library often, Library Books is one of the most useful apps you'll find.
Our family was lost without it. After we moved to a new state, our new library wasn't available so we emailed the developer, Harold Chu. In just a couple days, Mr. Chu sent a new version of Library Books and we were up and running again! It was that easy. Talk about great support. It doesn't get any better than this.
Download it, and try it out. The interface is simple, comprehensive, and slick. Plus you'll save a bundle in library fines!

What you have to do to make this work is use the Help. I did this and had no problems. I am going to love this app!

It might be that it isn't as compatible with my library's new system but Library Books no longer has a green star in the menu to let me know my hold items are available. It shows how many books I have checked out and how many are on hold that are not available. The library website has been updated and is organized differently than it used to be. I am hoping that Library Books will have an update making it more compatible in the future.

I emailed the developer several times, sent in bug reports, posted on his web site, still no response.

Nice little app but at some point it stopped working with my mac (mini) a few versions ago. The developer seems too busy or uninterested to fix the problem.

Simple, easy to use, way to track your library books without any muss or fuss. My library wasn't listed, but that was okay - set up was a breeze, and once I set it up Library Books has worked flawlessly and without my intervention since.
My only suggestion is to add a way for users to add their library to the pre-set Library Books database. Other than that feature request, Library Books is a complete and great program to use.

This is a great application. It is truly useful. It has saved me from having to pay many a fine. Mr. Chu has been responsive and helpful. Our local library, too, has helped with changing settings as library security measures have been updated; Mr. Chu then quickly updated the beta version of Library Books to include the new settings. All in all, I am very impressed. And thankful.

I've been a very satisfied user of Library Book for a couple of years but for the past few days have been unable to launch the program and get this error message "RSSDownloadFailed (null). Stack trace:" Now I can't even contact Harold Chu. Does anyone know what's happened?

There has been no fix forthcoming these many months. I have downloaded several updated versions of LB since, including this one, and tried them, but no luck.
So, what about people like us for whom the app simply does not work, no matter what we do?
