I bought Road Trip Effect Pro to use for a multimedia performance I am creating. I couldn't find how to create layers so I called Cort, who immediately informed me and then updated the brief manual he provides. While talking to him, I asked if layers could be reordered. They could not, but Cort said he's implement this.
He did. In TWO days! Amazing.

You can insert your own images, maps, etc. - Version: 2.0, 6/30/2006 10:55AM PST

I've been able to use Road Trip and insert my own map images or other image files, down to street level. It's not hard to do.
Maybe I expect too much for 25$ but the options of the animation are rather limited:
- no control over fade in/out of text labels - they appear and disappear in a fixed pattern.
- no bezier curves
Otherwise its easy to understand and stable.
