Product Description:

SiteGrinder is a Photoshop plug-in that builds entire web sites, or a skeleton of a web site, out of a Photoshop design.

SiteGrinder supports

  • conversion of Photoshop styled text layers to HTML/CSS
  • mult-page output
  • buttons and custom rollovers made from text, graphics, or both
  • menus and popup menus made from text, graphics, or both
  • automatic page inter-linking
  • hyperlinks and email links
  • outputs valid XHTML 1.1 and CSS
  • rounded corner rectangles
  • and much more.

All of this is easily accomplished using a simple, yet expressive method of adding hints, like the word "popup", to the end of layer names.

SiteGrinder is a great tool for web beginners and an invaluable time-saver for web experts.

SiteGrinder ReviewAccuracy and Speed Champion! - Version: 2.0.7, 1/24/2008 12:00AM PST

Having used a number of web creation programs, including GoLive and Dreamweaver, I can safely say that SiteGrinder is by far the best. If you're comfortable with Photoshop, there is no reason you shouldn't get this product. Its level of control is the same as Photoshop -- in other words, complete. Learning is quick, especially if you sit down and read their materials completely before setting to work (something I never do). I bought the Basic version, to make sure it actually worked, and will now upgrade to the Pro version.

I did experience a couple of Photoshop crashes, for whatever reason. A small inconvenience when dealing with a major timesaver and quality enhancer.

I've seen some bloggers commenting that they wouldn't buy the product because the company's website is so poorly designed. Their website can stand improvement, but it's unwise to judge the product by that criterion!

I didn't have any problems with the project, but did call their tech support due to a strange uploading problem. Their tech support is quick and helpful. Turns out that the uploading problem was caused by Fetch anyway.

SiteGrinder's the best -- just buy it!

SiteGrinder is a fairly good product but I am very sorry for buying it. Their licensing scheme makes you contract them if you upgrade Photoshop to another version or use another photoshop if you machine crashes (as mine did). I was down for a couple weeks without being about to update my site at a critical time because because of this. Imagine you upgrade or need to move to another copy of photoshop and you can't move ahead until you beg for new license info, which they provide at their leisure?

SiteGrinder gets a huge THUMBS DOWN.

Interesting product, would potentially useful for early stage prototyping of design-to-HTML for client review...

...if it didn't kick out errors on every sample PSD provided.

If it can't correctly parse the samples provided by the guys who built it...how's it gonna do with my designer's stuff?
