Product Description:

A security vulnerability has been detected in Version Cue, a feature of the Adobe Creative Suite, that only affects computers running Mac OS X.

A risk exists on Macintosh computers running Mac OS X where a Version Cue Workspace is installed such that if the computer is configured in a certain manner, an unauthorized person can possibly gain root access to that machine. If this occurs, any data on that machine can possibly be viewed, manipulated, and/or deleted. Also, any kind of code, for example, "malware,�? can possibly be installed.

Running this updater will amend internal Version Cue Workspace files, which will address the vulnerability issue.

Nothing is clear anymore from Adobe as far as the Mac is concerned. I have been using Adobe programs since 1987 (first on Wintel Box, then on the Mac) and the change in attitude towards the Mac became quite evident when the new top management team came in as the Adobe CEO-Founder retired a couple of years ago.

It is not indicated whether this update is req. for CS2 use. Adobe's site shows CS2 system requirements for this update, but it isn't clear anywhere if this is something v2 users need. Spotlight search for "version cue" only shows uninstaller. Any suggestions?

I have a dual 2.0 GHz and the CS Suite.
It installed and started with no problem.
How effective the security enhancements themselves would work I'll probably never know, but the patch worked fine.
