I've been using iWork now in an institution (university) hell-bent on using Microsoft Word and other Microsoft products. Not that I totally dislike Microsoft, but I do agree with Jobs; Microsoft lack ideas, charisma and Mac OSX. However I wonder if Pages is actually made by Microsoft? Now there there's a thought! Why do I think this? Because I've now had a couple of doc format files sent to me by other students, and they seem to unlock 'hidden features' in Pages that I swear weren't there before, like the 'list' pull down menu gives more options like extra indents and stuff. - Try it for yourself! Apart from that, and a few minor quibbles, I love Pages. I don't find it slow (although my Mac is an Intel job with 3 gigs of memory). Pages is well written and thought out and makes a great wordprocessor/ DTP system for Macintosh . Highly recommended! Go buy a copy today! =0)

this version of pages will not install in MAC OS 1.4.8 Intel on my macBook. I think it is part of new iLife or perhaps is linked to OS 1.5, but in any case it says now suitable version found in /Applications and quits the installation.

Apple Pages ReviewNo labels. Slow. Useless templates... - Version: 2.0.2, 11/25/2007 05:27AM PST

I do use Pages 06 where I used to use Word, because it's simpler. Pages is annoying too, though, and I'm not going to upgrade until they produce decent support for label design and print.

As for their templates - they're pretty useless for small business. An annoying omission is comp slips (do they have them in US?)

And why won't it start up with your own template selection?

Could do better.
