Canvastic is the first software publishing tool designed for K-8 students and teachers. Students can create text, graphics, and presentations and combine them all. Because of that it supports curriculum integration and enhances "time on task" because time isn't wasted the way it is with other solutions. Canvastic is not a toy like others we use for publishing in school settings. And it is not complicated like tools made for adults or professionals. It is only as complicated as it needs to be for the age/ability of the user.

This looks like it might work for us. The pref sets you can adjust is a great feature for schools. My 5th graders like that they aren't using something that looks like it was made for the little ones. And the little kids like it too. I'd like to see some patterns to go with the colors.

Crashed on all 3 of my macs within a few seconds of doing just about anything. Could never withstand classroom or use by children nonetheless parents or teachers even. "the first software publishing tool designed for K-8 students and teachers"?? Um I think not but nice marketing try. Kidpix has been around for ages. Not to mention the other numerous progs available. Kidpix might be more full of "toys" as you call it but it works. For classroom use it works well not to mention the other good progs out there. If you'd like I can send you a list. I see no upside to this; while it looks like a poorly done version of the much better options.
