High-performance, enterprise-class Storage Area Network (SAN) file system priced at $999 per client and per server. Xsan combines performance with ease of use for customers who require scalable, high-speed access to centralized shared data for storage consolidation and workflow in video post production, data center, broadcast and high-performance computing environments.

What's new in this version:

  • improving AFP performance when resharing Xsan volumes
  • more accurate file permissions when sharing Xsan volumes via AFP
  • accessing Xsan volumes larger than 16 terabyte in size
  • greater server stability when resharing Xsan volumes via NFS
  • handling quotas with no associated user or group name
  • maintaining access to Xsan volumes when metadata controller failovers occur
  • providing metadata controller services to 10.3.9 and 10.4 systems running Xsan 1.2
  • operating Xsan in environments with a mix of 10.3.9 and 10.4 systems

You Must have XSAN Admin 1.3 update also to use this release.

anything from a company we all know is around 50.000$.
apple is quite in a low point in price and this is of no use for Private/home use.
