Yep, still not 64-bit yet, still in retro Thirty-Two Bit. ;-)

Is it even necessary to defrag, now that Mac OS X automatically defrags?

I guess it can, according to:

iDefrag ReviewA defrag demo that only defrags 100M? - Version: 1.7.3, 1/11/2010 01:25PM PST

Firstly: A developer that can't seem to figure out how to properly list their utility on VersionTracker, which isn't rocket science, doesn't give me a lot of confidence about whatever they've developed.

Secondly: a demo version that only defragments 100M? What kind of demo is this? How does this demonstrate anything it claims? How about a one-time defrag or something actually useful--something that will make someone want to buy this for future use? Defragmenting 100M might have been helpful back in 1990, but if you want somebody to shell out $30 for something that arguably isn't even needed in OS X, you gotta give us more to go on than this.

Save $30, simply use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your drive out and back.

iDefrag ReviewWhy does a beta cost $30? - Version: 1.7.3, 1/11/2010 09:16AM PST

Why should somebody have to pay to beta test somebody's software? Beta testing is usually free. I suggest changing the category to shareware. This is a big turn-off. Bad first impression.
