Mike, it does have nag screens. I just downloaded and tried it for about 10 minutes. During that time, the NewsHunter Preferences window would open up to the registration tab. Now I don't know what you call that, but regular human folk call that a nag screen my friend. Another one just popped up on top of Omniweb while I was typing this!! That is just too much. It's not bad enough to have the nag screen (but deny it), but the nag screen will even come over another program running in the foreground.
Nice interface, but you'll never make the money you could if you lowered the price to normal news reader price between $25-$40. I would opt for the $40 on the high end because of the offline capabilities.
But don't say there are no nag screens when the preference window opens up to the registration tab every few minutes. Good grief. Now that I know you are a liar, I will never buy this, even if you drop the price. If you lie to me before the point of sale, what will you do afterwards?
I'll stick to Unison for now, and anybody else would do good to stick to whatever they are using for now.

No thanks.

$59 is way too much. I'll stick with MT-NewsWatcher, which is free and does a serviceable job. Sure, the NewsHunter's GUI is attactive, but I have better things to spend my money on.
This is how it works
- you run the program unregistred for a time
- the program informs you it will quit
- the Preferences window opens
- the Registration tab is displayed
- the program quits
Would you prefer that unregistered copies simply quit silently, without warning?
As for price: We do not charge for upgrades. Ever.
NewsHunter3 has been around for years and has gone through many incarnations. If you had registered your copy of Baker (an early predecessor to NewsHunter and NewsHunter3) all those years ago, you would still be getting free upgrades. So you can pay 20 or 30 bucks now and then 10 to 15 bucks every few months for "upgrades" or you can register your copy of NewsHunter3 once and enjoy complimentary updates for life.
And plus you get a free registration key for ArcherPro which is a pretty good deal.
