Multimap v WhereIs - Version: 2.1, 8/9/2005 10:11PM PST

For Australia, the WhereIs scripts have worked beautifully for me, but the MultiMap script just keeps downloading a file called browse.cgi; and GoogleMaps do not seem to work for Australia yet, though great for UK.
at last! great maps for AU!

Well done Stephen, a great solution. At last, a mapping solution that knows where Naremburn 2065 is that isn't controlled by Telstra :-D

Swift: What you want already exists - see, for example, http://farha.com/GMAP/ or http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050208234638329.
There are probably others - try this Google search: http://www.google.com/search?rls=en&q=%22address+book%22+%22google+maps%22

Except, this works well in Britain, but... - Version: 2.1, 5/17/2005 06:02AM PST

when will a developer come up with a way of looking up Google Maps in Address Book? I have a little script alteration in the Yellow Pages/Phone Book widget in Dashboard that looks things up in google. (MacOSXHints.com). Compared to Google Maps, the competitors suck wind. So, you Applescripters out there, or Google itself, we're waiting on you. Or Apple, please, enough of this lame Mapquest! Or give a choice as to which map to use -- although I'd enter maps.google.com. (This is not a free advertisement, and this endorsement is in no way intended to denigrate competitors. Except YOU SUCK.)
Excellent!

This product really improves rapid mapping here in the UK. Fast, efficient and simple. Well done!

Peter H:
Apologies for the inconvenience. Something broke the links between the VersionTracker pages and some of my files. I don't know what caused it, only that I didn't change anything!
I've updated the links so they should start working again soon. If you're in a hurry, you can download via homepage.mac.com/swithers

When I double-click the downloaded zip file Multimap (AB) 2.0.zip-link.zip, I get "Error 1 - Operation not permitted."
If I try to use "unzip" in the Terminal, I get the following:

Version 2.0 looks to be a notable improvement.
Smoothly done.

I've tried using the script with an Australian address, and it's still working OK for me. For a moment, I thought Multimap might have made a change that broke my script!
I'm not sure what's going wrong for you. Please contact me by email (you'll find the address via the 'About Stephen Withers' link above), and tell me what browser you're using, and a street address that won't work for you. For privacy reasons, you might choose a 'fake' address such as that of a shop or post office. That's ok, as long as it is a genuine address. Please also attach the browse.cgi file that your browser is downloading.
