I'm not thrilled with it; doesn't do much for me especially since all my desktop pictures are of warm places. Big problem--I can't get rid of it. After I quit it, I can't eject it or drag it to the trash because it tells me it's in use.

Snowflakes ReviewNot bad... - Version: 1.0, 12/14/2004 12:19AM PST

Not bad, though the amount of CPU this thing uses is insane. I think you need to cut the CPU down to 10% or less, which is totally possible, of course. Also, I want to make the snowflakes fall slower. I know there's an option in preferences, but they still don't go slow enough. Blowing from side to side would be nice. I'd also want to adjust the transparency and size.

Snowflakes ReviewSlow and ugly. - Version: 1.0, 12/13/2004 07:15PM PST

This program sucks up both 20% of my proc on its own, and about another 70% of WindowServer. It makes QuickTime movies stutter. Also, the flakes are large and fall straight down - no wind blows or anything.

This needs to be improved, and should probably be open sourced so people can make it, erm, usable.

Also, a little integration would be nice. Using apps like the incredible DeskShade doesn't work too well, because sticking the flakes behind all windows causes nothing to show.

I was trying out different christmas programs today, and found this one to be very nice. The only problem is it is missing some of the features of other programs like it.

A handy hint, don't set the snowflakes to 10,000 ;)

Snowflakes Reviewpretty good I guess - Version: 1.0, 12/13/2004 02:29PM PST

Okay, it's good for what it is, but it has some problems. First of all, it should not take 50% of my processor. That includes using the window server to draw transparent snowflakes. Secondly, clicking on a snowflake should not switch me to the Snowflakes app. However, perhaps you can use this functionality to make a "catch the snowflake" mini-game :)

Just how many times has this been done? 50? 100? 1.45e45000?! I don't think we need this kind of thing anymore...but I haven't tried it, so I'll give it thumbs up anyways.
