How did I miss Magnetic Scrolls??! magnetiX offers what appears to be a really superbly done interpreter -- on first glance, I give it 5 stars, but we'll see after what a few hours of play will do (I'm hopeful.) That leaves the GAMES, which are really fine -- stylistically, somewhere between Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and some of the very recherche plots and purple prose InfoCom was serving up in its decline. These games are well-written, with a British slant. As you might expect, it takes brass to offer a text adventure based on Lewis Carroll's novels (i.e., Wonderland), but Rev. Dodgson's legacy is in good hands at Magnetic Scrolls. Thanks for bringing this to Macintosh!

This almost brought tears into my eyes... remembering those good ol’ days. As “Myst” in its time, Magnetic Scrolls’ “Pawn” and “Guild of Thieves” were breaking new ground and featured amazing graphics (and great intro music). The interpreter was as good as the one by Infocom (anybody remember those guys?) and the adventures had terrific storylines. Good to have those back.

I actually own a couple of the original, shrink-wrapped games, and it's great to have the old Magnetic games back in a Max OS X-style package - though there are a couple of interpreters, this one certainly feels the best.
