Desktop Poet is Issa (coded by and formerly available from Stick Software). Issa was a nice app, which means that DP is as well. It's the same thing. And that's my problem. Issa was discontinued at least six months ago, and the code was sold to Mariner. If I recall correctly, the Stick Soft page covering this chain of events also indicated that some nice changes and improvements would be made. Yet, there's almost no discernible difference between the two (other than splash screens and icons). Why no improvements? As far as I know, the only update is to be able to look words up using Dictionary.com. Even the optional word lists are the same ones that Stick offered. Mariner, please do something to improve this app, and I'll buy it.
Very nice.

A great little replica of the magnetic words seen on fridges. Two suggestions I could make (but I love this initial version) is to have classes of words, so for example you could filter out all the proper names in a word pack but keep the general ideas and also to put a settable number value to the number of magnets on the screen.
Great job!
