HTTPS and Content Scan - Version: 1.0.1, 5/29/2005 05:54AM PST

Great little app. However, it's missing two important features...
01. HTTPS SUPPORT
I need to check secure sites using https://
02. CONTENT VERIFICATION
A site may be up, but if the back-end database is down, the site really isn't accessible. The ability to check for a particular string in the page can verify that everything is working as expected.

The Informant checks the domain names you enter to see if the IP address they point to responds. It is not intended to monitor the availability of domain names for purchase; but rather whether websites that you're responsible for are currently responding to requests. A green icon signifies that the site is responding to requests, so The Informant will show a green icon the vast majority of the time. The red icon is more important as this signifies that the server is not responding and it's time to contact your service provider.
wish a developer would take and improve, stabilize because it really is a good idea.!
apparently the developer has abandoned it / his site? not there last time i checked.
in the era of multiple website hosting and mult-domain management, this is a true need -- simon is way overpriced.
