PDFMergeThing ReviewNot good... - Version: 1.0.0, 11/19/2009 06:25PM PST

I used to use iMergePDFs and loved it. This new version simply does not work. I combined 3 pdf files just now, and got a 27 page document full of duplicate pages, with the right side cut off all of the pages! This is the kind of result I have gotten every time I have used this new "improved" version of a tool that used to just work. I realize that the price is right and I shouldn't complain, but take this as an input from a user who wishes he had saved the .dmg of the old version...

PDFMergeThing Reviewinflexible - Version: 1.0b1, 9/23/2007 08:34AM PST

I tried to merge two pdf images that were 8.25X6 inches. The merge truncated all but the left edges. I noticed that another user suggested changing page orientation before merging. I have many pdfs to merge and that would be a real pain, plus, in the final document, I need to preserve their original orientation. This software has a very specific application that doesn't adapt to a variety of layouts.

Thanks for the tip to rotate PDFs...very useful.
Other than that minor user intervention needed...appears to be great software.

easy to use & straightforward indeed!

Found one bug nevertheles: It only supports one destination format: A4 vertical!

I tried merging 4 pdf's, 3 of which were 1 page A4 vertical documents & the last was a 6 page A4 horizontal document (spreadsheet). The resulting merger cropped the right side of my spreadsheet. A way around this is to rotate 90 ° the original pdf before adding it to the merger list & then merging but I figured it would be cool if the app could do this automatically!
I was also wondering what would happen if you tried to merge pdfs of different sizes: the result is the same: the default is A4 vertical so anything bigger than that will be cropped.
Same problem if you try to merge documents larger than A4(the default on my machine): all the pages get cropped.

Support for different sizes & document orientation would be nice!

otherwise cool ap for a starter!

Not exactly feature rich, but what else do you need?
Does exactly what it says. Cool!
