Product Description:
Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP's technology and uses the same native file format.

- Makes Seashore a universal binary
- Fixes a bug that caused the program to produce dull colours for some TIFF files and when flattening an image
- Fixes a bug that caused floating layers to appear incorrectly when working with channels
- Fixes a bug when rotating images on Mac OS 10.3
- Fixes a bug that made large TIFF files unreadable on Mac OS 10.3
- Adds write support for GIFs
- Adds Hue, Saturation and Value plug-in
- Adds CMYK plug-in
- Adds the clone tool
- Adds the ability to check for updates
- Adds aspect ratio setting to selection tools
- Adds ellipse tool
- Adds polygon lasso tool
- Adds anti-aliasing to lasso tool
- Adds non-modal new document panel
- Adds selection operations
- Adds the ability to create new documents with a transparent background
- Scales the new document window to the content size (plus border)

While I'd love to see a Line tool, more-functional text handling and a couple of other touches (Shift key to constrain drawing/painting to straight lines, etc.) overall this is an awesome tool for those who want an image editor that's small, simple (to use- it has a solid feature set) and stable. For those folks with graphics tablets- the brushes are pressure-sensitive, which was a nice surprise.

Seashore is one of the few PhotoShop alternatives that has all the features I need, and I've been very happy with it so far. I love, love, love the simple keystrokes for getting some or all of the palates out of the way. Tools seem more intuitive and easier to use than in my ancient copy of PS7. It may not have every bell and whistle, but it does everything I need.
Only 2 problems so far:
1) Lassoing sometimes causes LONG spinning-beachball pauses.
2) If the last update was 11 months ago, I'm worried I've just fallen in love with abandonware.
