MenuShade CommentaryAbandoned.... - Version: 1.1, 1/11/2009 05:08PM PST

It looks like this program has been abandoned. I loved it when I was using Tiger, but now it is dead (does not work in Leopard at all - last update was May 2006). Too bad, it was a great little app!

MenuShade CommentaryCrashes in Leopard? - Version: 1.1, 1/28/2008 12:00AM PST

I used Menushade without problems under Tiger, but after updating to Leopard it crashes a few seconds after launch. Same behavior on Intel MacBook Pro and G5 Powermac. If anyone knows a solution or source of the conflict, please post.

The program immediatly shuts down. I wonder if there's a conflict with the Candy Bar program that I'm using?

MenuShade ReviewNice but.... - Version: 1.1, 7/22/2007 09:48PM PST

i like this app especially the fake transparency. However, a number of times a day the menu gets messed up and I have to switch to MenuShade and uncheck and recheck "fake transparency". Pain in the butt. Please fix this and update.

Thanks

I used old version and all worked well.
With this one, i set all my preferences, but i don't understand how can i exit from the app witout kill it?

The Program icon still in the dock... the only thing i can do it's go on Menushade menu and select "Quit Menushade", but in this way the application stops to work...

Any one can tell me the right procedure?

MenuShade CommentaryAlmost there - Version: 1.1, 7/25/2006 01:21AM PST

Love the "fake" transparency effect... well, except if you make it completely clear it makes all the text & icons in your menubar disappear completely as well. This would be on 24/7 if this would allow transparency of the white while still allowing you to see the text and icons in the menubar. That would be GREAT!

Bounces twice in dock and closes.
Had a few new apps do this today. Maybe I'm missing something.

Product Requirements:

Mac OS X 10.3 (below is untested)
Universal Binary

This review is for the developer, as he said "below is untested". I am still running on OS X 10.2.8 and it didn't work for me. Just so you know :) It's a nice idea though, considering Jaguar also has that bright, white menu bar. Hope this helps.
