What's new in this version:

  • The plain text alternative, preamble and epilgue editors are now Unciode. Moreover, the plain text message always specifies the character set as UTF-8 with base64 encoding. This ensures compatibility with more languages.

  • Quoted printable encoding has been eschewed in favor of base64 encoding for the content of all message bodies to ensure better HTML display for all character sets. You can turn off base64 encoding on the "Message" pane of the Preferences window.

  • Report logs will be automatically generated if a new option in Preferences to do so is selected (see the "Log" pane.) Report logs will be put into the "Mailings" folder of your Logs folder (in your Home Library folder.) They will be named using the subject of the mail message, if available. All log file names will have the date and time of generation appended to the name.

  • A "Report Logs..." convenience menu item has been added to the "File" menu to open the report logs folder in your Logs folder.

  • Updated help tags in the Preferences window. Updated documentation to reflect recent changes.

  • Mailings documents now contain a key for the version which generated them. This will enable the program to make smart decisions in the future when reading Mailings documents, as the format may change.

  • [Bug fix] The X-mailer header has been fixed (it was missing when the option to include it was selected.) The content-transfer encoding and return receipt headers were being duplicated which caused some servers to reject the mail as spam.

  • [Bug fix] There was a problem with byte-swapping of saved window coordinates between versions that did and didn't do it. (Namely version 1.9.25 and earlier versions.)

  • [Bug fix] When generating the HTML header for a log report, the subject was not being encoded when required (i.e. for the ISOLatin1 character set.)

  • [Bug fix] The default character set menu was broken in the last update (when the entries were modified to show the character set code, along with the name.)

Mailings Troubleshooting Reporthtml won't load in hotmail type receivers - Version: 1.9.46, 12/20/2008 07:39AM PST

I downloaded a copy to try out with my personal christmas card sending. The interface and work flow are so smartly designed that I really want to give this software a 5 star rating. However, the html I sent seems not to load in any of the hotmail type clients. Apple Mail and Outlook seem to be working fine. Why is that and how do I solve the problem?

Mailings works. It is simple and easy to use on the first try. And with further experience it answers the call to do more. If you manage an email list that requires frequent mailings ... buy it.

Mailings ReviewAwesome Mail Program - Version: 1.9.41, 8/26/2008 11:06AM PST

I've used the program for mailing of about 1000 for about a year and it does exactly what I need to to do. I highly recommend using this program. I handles HTML email, server STMP spam protection with a throttle, on the fly email editing, drop scheduling and more. I'm on the west coast and set up my emails in zip string to start in the East at about 6am here, 9am in the East. About the time most of my prospects have cleared their overnight email of junk! Great Job!
