PlayPod ReviewGood potential, with some serious flaws - Version: 1.0b9, 5/2/2005 05:49AM PST

PlayPod has a great interface and gives you some control over your podcasts, at least in theory. Unfortunately, downloaded podcasts will sometimes disappear without being added to iTunes. When the files do get transferred OK, it does not assign your genre and playlist as advertised. If they get these problems fixed they will have a great product.
They used to have a support forum, and after increasing numbers of complaints started appearing, they shut the forums down "due to security reasons". Yeah, right.

PlayPod ReviewBest of the podcasting clients - Version: 1.0b9, 5/1/2005 09:53AM PST

I checked out every other podcasting client for Mac and chose this one for its user friendly interface and general ease of use. As a newcomer to podcasting, I found the competitors products difficult to decipher and cumbersome to use. Playpod stood out from the crowd and has a very readable use guide. I've had no problems with the beta version.

PlayPod Troubleshooting ReportIt's downloading random/unsubscribed podcasts! - Version: 0.3.3, 2/10/2005 02:38PM PST

First, this app rocks. Very nice. I like the fact that it integrates so well with iTunes, so I enabled auto-downloading. I come back from class, plug in my ipod, and everything syncs up because of the way I have my smart playlists setup. My major problem right now is that the app is downloading totally random podcasts that I have not ever subscribed to. Any clues? A couple other suggestions:
-- a database of podcasts, like NetNewsWire has in their 'sites' drawer'
-- force genre change in app preferences (it doesnt always change it to 'Podcast')
--better feed sorting in left bar

very very nice app!
