Tried to test the application. Looks useable but it does not seem to work with iCal set to European format (d/m/y).

Master of My Domain ReviewNew Version 1.7 *** GREAT *** - Version: 1.7, 8/10/2009 05:32PM PST

Just purchased version 1.7 today and let me tell you the flaws from earlier versions are fixed and the new features are awesome! I was using version 1.4 from over a year ago.

I quickly made a csv with over 100 domains listed (clients of mine) and imported perfectly. I just followed the format AppleSource setup on their documentation, very straight forward. Super clean and perfect for storing this information. Goodbye text documents or other password apps.

For software this cheap to purchase I give it 5 stars in this version. I can't wait for the iPhone app, this will be super handy when I'm on the go and a client calls asking for ftp or information related to their hosting or domain.

I'll let you know if you find any bugs or anything.

Nice work on this version guys!

Master of My Domain ReviewRequires work, as does their customer support... - Version: 1.6, 4/19/2009 05:20PM PST

Requires work, as does their customer support...

I would have posted most of this on their support forums, but I am still waiting for the confirmation email to join :(

  • If you have not entered any domains, and you click the 'scan domains' button the program falls over with the error message:
An exception of class OutOfBoundsException was not
    handled. This application must shutdown.
  • Dates are display in the USA date format, what ever the setting on your computer are.
  • The program works out information about the whois for a domain by doing a http request to various sites, then screen scraping. Which doesn't always work. Wouldn't it be better to use the 'whois' terminal command locally?

Master of My Domain CommentaryI am surprised that Apple Computer allows this company. - Version: 1.5.5, 1/8/2008 05:22PM PST

I am surprised that Apple Computer allows this company to sell such shoddy software for the Apple Computer and have the Apple trademark as part of their business name.

This software sucks so bad that I just felt I needed to.
I put some domain names in the software about a week ago and now just opened the software up again and everything is corrupt. It has feilds filled with all kinds of crap. Like email addresses called "untitled.com", servers names "untitled.com" Usernames of my other domain names, an expired date of "one of my other domain names. It is just totally screwed up.
I would not recommend this amaturish software. Total waste of money!

This is the first version of Master of my Domain I have tried. So I don't know about the problems with the previous versions. However, my experience has been amazing! Right away I stored all of my domains and email addresses and the program took care of everything. I have many domains and I realized as soon as I opened iCal I had two expiring next month. Thanks Applesource! Master of my Domain pulled all of my whois data for all my domains except for one TLD without a hiccup! Would reccomend this program to everyone!

Master of My Domain ReviewDo not every buy from AppleSource! - Version: 1.4, 8/7/2007 03:40PM PST

I've made a HUGE mistake sending any money to this "company". The software is very shoddy (not just this product, but also TimeNet -- do not buy either) and the support is completely lacking. I've had the same problem with those here, and tried to resolve the dispute with PayPal and with the developer. A refund is not given, nor were my issues even addressed.

I DID throw my money away, and I really hope that this will help someone out there before they decide to drop any money on it.

One more thing: I think they're a scam. The trial version is so badly limited, that you feel almost compelled to buy just to TRY it. Once you buy, it takes days to receive a serial number. Only then do you discover that it crashes incessantly making it completely unusable. Support is a joke.

Learn from my mistake!!

Master of My Domain ReviewI feel like I've throwed away my money - Version: 1.4, 5/14/2007 12:08AM PST

After waiting more than a week for my serial, I could finally use the full version. That was a big disappointment however. I was not able to add more domains than the 5 I already had from the evaluation version. I got this error:

'An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled.
The Application must shut down.'

Just as BILL W I've sent AppleSource an e-mail on which the answer was equally unsatisfying. I also feel like I've thrown away my money.

Master of My Domain ReviewProblem on Intel Macs, aggravating delays... just not working - Version: 1.2, 10/3/2006 03:46PM PST

I am a IT professional, and thought I would give "Master of my domain" a try thus increasing productivity since I would not have to develop a database and associated scripts myself. I therefore decided to purchase the program prior trying it. Once the purchase made, I proceeded in downloading the demo while waiting for my serial number to be emailed to me.
1. I loaded the Demo on my intel iMac but get the following error: "An exception of class NilObjectEception was not handled. The application must shut down" immediately after I click cancel on the Register of my domain pop-up box. The issue seems to be intel related since I loaded the demo on a different intel imac and got the same error while I didn't get it on one of the iMac g5 we have in the office.
2. I waited 48 hours and since I hadn't heard from the developer regarding my serial number I emailed to chase up. No news until I finally received my serial number almost 7 working days after I purchased the application (talk about productivity, I could have had the time to develop a full database during that time if I had known). Beside the frustrating delays in response from the developer, the serial number supplied isn't even working!

I do understand the pressures when developing applications, however, it is basicbusiness practice to acknowledge inquiries from paying clients. This is the best way to build bad PR in no time.

I am still waiting on a response from the developer, a week after last emailing. I am considering declining the charges on my credit cards and hope that the developer gets his/her acts together.

Master of My Domain CommentaryVersion 1.2 - Version: 1.2, 10/7/2005 12:42AM PST

For those of us who have been using MOMD for a while now, this is a welcome update. It may not be quite as full featured as DomainTracker, but when you have a fairly large database of domains, the last thing you need is to have to export them all and import them into another program and then make sure that no data has been lost in the import.

MOMD has nice features, my favourite being the one panel shows all info at once - I don't want to have to tab through different panes to see the information.

Bear in mind that this is only version 1.2 compared to 2.3 for DomainTracker, and I'm sure more features will be added to MOMD in time.
