The number of files that some relatively simple programs are opening is frightening! This program isn't just for debugging -- it can help you make sure programs you download aren't doing anything nefarious!

Clouseau Developer NoteBug #000001: Does Not Work With All MacOS X Apps - Version: 1.0, 11/23/2004 01:18PM PST

...well, that's true. In the current version, Clouseau only works with Cocoa apps and newer Carbon apps; specifically, it'll work with applications that have a "Info.plist" file in their application bundle in the "Contents" folder. If an application is an older Carbon application (or a freaky hybrid like Photoshop CS -- just peek inside that crazy mess) chances are good that it won't have this "Info.plist" file in the app bundle, and so Clouseau will quit with no output. Fixing this issue is being investigated for a future revision, but since most all newer MacOS X apps (even Carbon apps) will tend to have a "Info.plist" file in the "right" place, this problem will eventually go away. I hope. ~jeff
