Product Description:

We made Disctop to bring a bit of fun in working with your brand new iMac, although it can be of use as well, and not only for owners of an iMac. Normally when you insert a CD in your Mac it disappears, but where does it go? They simply pop up on your desktop!

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a bug where no more than 4 covers were shown in the find window
  • Corrected a number of mistakes in the French translation
  • Adjusted the transparency of the button window to be more visible

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9

This app is not being supported any longer by the developer, and while it's cute as hell, it will not find DVD cover art anymore by itself. Probably a quick plist fix if I knew what to do. AFAIK, it does work with SL.

Use it for over 1 year and I cannot without it anymore. Feels like it is an OSX native feature. When I insert a music/film CD, it's not a anonymus data disc-icon on my desk anymore; and I had fun on finding a suitable picture. Thanks!

... and its little menu bar to play an audio CD: its a pity that there is not the same to play a DVD.
An optical disk now is living, it is no more like a ghost to discover on the desktop!
