This app is not being supported any longer by the developer, and while it's cute as hell, it will not find DVD cover art anymore by itself. Probably a quick plist fix if I knew what to do. AFAIK, it does work with SL.

DisctopPro ReviewFantastic! - Version: 2.5.1, 12/26/2006 02:03PM PST

Use it for over 1 year and I cannot without it anymore. Feels like it is an OSX native feature. When I insert a music/film CD, it's not a anonymus data disc-icon on my desk anymore; and I had fun on finding a suitable picture. Thanks!

... and its little menu bar to play an audio CD: its a pity that there is not the same to play a DVD.
An optical disk now is living, it is no more like a ghost to discover on the desktop!

When I have windows open, Ias I said, I have to invoke expose to get at the arrow at (where I have it) the top left. Woulkdn't it be better to do away with the arrow and have the whole disc clickable? Then it wouldn't necessitate the invokation of expose at all...

DisctopPro ReviewNice idea! - Version: 2.2.2, 8/22/2005 05:12AM PST

But half of the time I invoke expose to be able to click on the CD's arrow button, and doing so brings my apps back into view, leaving the menu floating on top of them. This shouldn't happen...

This is just too cool, elegant, and useful. I'm betting Apple incorporates the idea in OS 10.4 or 10.5

Mr.Whippy
Just caught your post and I'm using a 500mHz G4 (one of the originals, dark blue/grey pinstripe, DVD-RAM drive) and it works beautiful. Just not on the external SONY.

However does not seem to work with external drives. Only built in. PowerMac G4/10.3.4/External SONY dual layer DVD burner/player.

This is a funny app. It just makes you smile. It is especially nice on the iMac G5, but can be used on any other computer as well. The description kind of puzzled me at first since obviously you can make the CD appear on the desktop using the Finder preferences, but that's not what it does. It isn't even just eye candy. It is functional in that it connects to Amazon.com and you can play the CD in iTunes right from the image that pops up. If you try it and don't like it, there is no need to give it a bad review. Bad reviews are for apps that don't do anything or crash like crazy. While I won't be using it, I am still giving it a good review because it is a solid application and it does what it says, which isn't nothing. And you can't beat the price!
