VirtueDesktops ReviewApps windows aren't remembered - Version: 0.53r220, 10/15/2006 04:59PM PST

I am keen to see an applications various windows remembered each time the app starts. I use metro LX, a DAW product that uses multiple windows, more than can fit in one desktop. In the old desktop manager program, the window position would be remembered across all the desktops so when i start the app, it's set up and ready to use. Virtue can't remember this info, so it piles all the windows onto one desktop.

I could not find anywhere a document explaining how to use this software; I wrote for help but received no reply from the authors. :-(

VirtueDesktops Troubleshooting Reportslippery sticky windows - Version: 0.53r220, 9/21/2006 09:35PM PST

In this latest update, any applications where I check "show on all desktops" soon (after say 5-15 minutes) vanishes entirely. I usually have iChat and iTunes "sticky" and now they just go away instead of being on every desktop.

VirtueDesktops Troubleshooting ReportDisappointed aswell.... - Version: 0.53r220, 8/26/2006 01:25PM PST

Hi, I'm disappointed aswell : (
After a while using the "desktop switch" doesn't work very well! Sometimes it switches and sometimes it doesn't. At the moment I cant' switch to the top or bottom, just to the side : (!
But the worst is that it's not possible to choose the programm because it's some kind of frozen... But the weird thing is you can anyhow change the desktops!

Please FIX THESE PROBLEMS!

VirtueDesktops CommentaryReverting - Version: 0.53r220, 8/24/2006 06:46PM PST

Because I had not yet upgraded to Tiger, I had to use the earlier Desktop Manager to get muliple desktops. Upon upgrading my OS (just today, in fact), one of my first downloads was VirtueDesktops.

What a disappointment.

Rather than an improvement, I find it to be overly complicated (nowhere as simple to use as DM), hard to figure out what does what. It contains a host of unnecessary bells and whistles while lacking in some of the most basic (and fully suitable) functionality of DM.

I've gone back to DM. I'll give this another look when I see an update, but if it isn't better than DM, I'll just go back again.

VirtueDesktops ReviewGood app. Some fixes needed - Version: 0.53r220, 8/24/2006 08:33AM PST

VirtueDesktop works fine except for one niggley problem. Its very nice ability to attach applications to specific desktops is still unreliable. I must periodically reboot the application to get the applications to where they're supposed to be.

VirtueDesktops ReviewJust not there yet - Version: 0.53r220, 8/23/2006 09:31AM PST

I really want to like this application. But it's not there yet, at least for me. I want one simple thing: when I use the Dock or the Apple Application Switcher (command-tab) to switch to a different application, I want Virtue to switch to the desktop that the application is bound to. It doesn't do this (MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz, 2 GB).
