Product Description:

The radio airwaves will never be safe again. The RadioSHARK adds an AM/FM radio to any Mac or PC — but that’s just the beginning. The RadioSHARK can record any AM or FM radio broadcast in real time. You can also program it to record a scheduled show, or to ‘pause’ live radio so you can return right where you left off moments or even hours before (See ‘What is Time-Shift Recording?’ sidebar above). RadioSHARK includes a full-featured application that controls all radio and recording functions. Favorite station presets can be set with the click of a mouse, and new stations can be scanned and tuned with ease. The application is also where you program Time-Shift Recording, either to take a break without missing any of a show or to record your favorite broadcast to listen to later.

What's new in this version:

  • Added ability to fine tune FM in 0.25mhz steps using ctrl-< & ctrl->.
  • Computer wakes up from sleep for a scheduled recording*.
  • A new event's default audio settings use the instant recording preferences.
  • The FF/Rew buttons in TS drawer are correctly disabled when TS is off.
  • Fixed hanging when checking for an update without an internet connection.
  • Fix for launching the correct radioSHARKServer if multiple copies are on disk.
  • Fix for computers unable to go to sleep automatically, provided:
  • The radioSHARK.app is closed.
  • The preference "Store audio when this app is closed" is unchecked.
  • Another fix for unconverted .mov files, etc.
  • Fixed problem where red light turned off with scheduled recordings.
  • Fixed a problem where the server would crash when quitting the client.
  • Other bug fixes.

RadioSHARK Troubleshooting Reportnoise in my Soundsticks - Version: 2.0.2, 9/26/2007 12:41AM PST

Sillen--2008
RadioShark has stopped working since several months on my computer (System 10.4.10). I've uninstalled RadioShark, but when i disconnect the USB hardware, and my computer goes into "Sleep" mode, I get a really annoying sound in my Soundsticks. How can I make this stop?

RadioSHARK software "phones home" when launched, even when automatic updates are inactivated.

RadioSHARK ReviewYay! At least tuning works again in 10.4.9 - Version: 2.0.2, 4/13/2007 05:14PM PST

This version fixes the problem with tuning in OS X 10.4.9 that arose if you applied the combo updater.

Unfortunately the software itself is still poor, and one of the most dramatic examples of an application going backwards in functionality and ease of use between a 1.0 and 2.0 release I've ever seen. This program could have really been something if Griffin Technology had put sufficient resources behind the software.
