Product Description:

Scan barcodes with your iSight! Now you can use your iSight as a barcode scanner! Using advanced image processing techniques, EvoBarcode recognizes barcodes from your iSight and instantly sends them to any application. It can also send scanned barcodes to the Clipboard, or to an AppleScript, allowing you to integrate EvoBarcode with existing software solutions. Unlike laser-based barcode scanners, EvoBarcode works by capturing video from your camera, and analyzing each frame to find barcodes. Its advanced image processing algorithms can find and recognize barcodes regardless of their orientation. EvoBarcode recognizes UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-13 and EAN-8 barcode symbologies.

EvoBarcode ReviewDoesn't Work - Version: 1.1, 4/25/2007 11:34PM PST

Hangs on my MacBook Pro. Wish I'd read the earlier comments, but when I saw it was EvoLogical I thought it would be good - EvoCam has always been a pleasure to use.

From the Product Version I suspect that this product is no longer in development.

EvoBarcode ReviewAbsolute junk for the new Macs, don't wast your time, - Version: 1.1, 9/7/2006 06:59PM PST

wait to see if there's an update soon.
This version doesn't work at all!
It bombs all the time and is not Universal Binary. You have to go to Activity Viewer and quit "Translated" just to get it to run.
Once it does run, it was not able to scan any bar code that I threw at it. I tried every distance, and every adjustment.

Even Delicious Library can scan from my MacBook, so I am hoping once they go Universal and update it, it will work.
Until then, don't even try.

I am hoping to find something that will scan into FileMaker and other apps.

EvoBarcode CommentaryWish: read other codes - Version: 1.0, 1/21/2005 06:21AM PST

It would be great if it could read other types of barcodes like Code 39. Other than that it is a nifty product.
