Cabos CommentaryCPU Usage - Version: 0.8.1, 12/3/2008 06:29PM PST

Cabos makes for VERY high use of the CPU. Acqlite, in contrast, though it has other problems of its own, uses very little of the CPU. So while using Cabos, be prepared to have your fans kick in and to experience quite a drag on your system for other running apps.

Cabos Usage TipLeopard - had to uncheck "use textured window" & restart - Version: 0.7.9, 9/17/2008 01:42AM PST

I had to uncheck "use textured window" in the Cabos preferences and restart the app or the buttons don't come up or anything and clicking on parts of the interface doesn't respond. Otherwise, seems to run fine in my Leopard machine (Leopard 10.5.4 - I'm not jumping to 10.5.5 yet).. I loved this unbloated little app in Tiger, glad to see that aside from this glitch it still seems to work ok with Leopard.

For the limited downloading I do, this simple file sharing programming let's me the downloads that I want quickly. It doesn't bog my system down like Limewire. First time I used it, it took a while to connect to networks, but after that the search is pretty efficient.

Cabos Troubleshooting Report0.7.9 is trouble for me, downgraded back to 0.7.8 - Version: 0.7.9, 4/8/2008 12:42AM PST

Cowicide
Just upgraded to 0.7.9 from 0.7.8 and now all downloads are stalling at exactely 128K or something close to that. I downgraded back to 0.7.8 and no trouble. 0.7.9 is now trashed. I'm using Tiger 10.4.9, so YMMV of course.

Cabos Usage TipGood Alternative! - Version: 0.7.7, 2/9/2008 12:00AM PST

Cabos appears to be the best alternative to 'Limewire' since 'Limewire' has connectivity problems with 'Leopard'.
Even though Cabos is not 'Universal', it works well on Intel Macs even with 'Leopard'.

since the last time I tried it a year or so ago. I've officially given up on Poisoned, no reason to bother now. This one works and has all the features. Just wish I could turn off the confirmation warning when deleting items from the downloads list. Took a long time to connect the first time I launched it but not since. No setup or port forwarding needed, in my case at least. A clear and/or disable button for the filter would be convenient.
