Warning -- this program installs something... - Version: 3.9.2, 11/14/2009 01:45PM PST

This program installs something on your computer that keeps track of how many times you've tried it. I tried this program today, not remembering I had tried it several months ago, and it let me know I had now used it twice. Trashing the program does not remove the tracking thing, whatever it is. Does anyone know what it's called so I can find and delete it?
SimpleMovieX still has a major problem with AVIs

I tried SimpleMovieX several times but there is still a major problem for me (and I guess many other users) - and I never got any response by the developers:
I'm using an online TV recorder (save.tv) which saves videos as AVIs (DIVX).
In the past I've cut out commercials of those AVIs with VirtualDub, a free Windows application (http://www.virtualdub.org) via Parallels Desktop on my Mac.
Native Editing with VirtualDub works perfect. I am viewing the edited videos on my Playstation 3 without any problems.
Now - since I'm using a Mac - I've tried the recent version of SimpleMovieX. While I can cut and save those AVIs (DIVX) with SimpleMovieX (respecting the editing points = keyframe restriction) like with VirtualDub - and also view them on my Mac - showing those videos edited with SimpleMovieX on my Playstation 3 doesn't work: The movie and the sound are playing too fast and frames are jumping.
While I've read what has been published about the AVI format I have to stick to it since it's what I get from save.tv - and I don't want to loose quality and time by re-encoding the videos.
So since loss-less cutting of AVIs (DIVX) is possible VirtualDub I cannot understand why it shouldn't be possible with SimpleMovieX.
I really would like to buy SimpleMovieX if it worked for me.

I bought this just to add chapter markers to my apple TV and iphone video files.
This great little app allowed me to add chapter markers to video files i already had in itunes.
With its great UI, I was able to do this quickly, easily and safely.
No over the top bells and whistles, just a clean and robust little app.
This app does things that quicktime just doesn't do. Well worth the price.

Not many features, but it works - Version: 3.1.1, 7/27/2007 10:55PM PST

It needs a way to save as a larger or smaller resolution format. It does a nice job stitching AVI files together and editing them. But I can get QT Pro for $30, why would I pay $30 for this which has less functionality?

I used Simple MovieX 3.0fc2 demo version to cut and trim an mpeg movie- easy as pie.
My system: 10.4.6 powerbook g4
10 second delay before processing to consider buying it. It worked, I bought it, that's all!
I haven't tried the other features, but I bought it to trim and cut mpegs from my digital camera.

I required a basic editor to trim tapes I had copied to my computer from VHS using eyeTV and saving to Quicktime. Quicktime files load immediatly into SimpleMovie unlike the long loading times I experienced in iMovie, and it was easier than iMovie for me to learn to use. If I were to become more involved in transitions and titleing I'd probably use iMovie, however, SimpleMovie suits my needs and is stable to use.

Another developer needing a lesson in terminology:
There is a difference between a free trial and freeware.
Something which costs $24 to unlock IS NOT FREEWARE!

This crap RUINED my work!! its my fault i suppose, when the packaging looks good, and it claims it can do what it says i fell for it. Hours of work completely WASTED.
Firstly it claims it can natively edit AVI's....RUBBISH..."As simple as edit and save" i tried that, i made a small edit change about 7 seconds worth and clicked save, what i got was a ONE HOUR re-encode process and a file which was COMPLETELY MESSED UP WITH CONSTANT AND VARIABLE AUDIO SYNC PROBLEMS.
I WANT MY FILE BACK YOU B@ST@RDS
"Dont Buy it?" you ask..... "DONT USE IT EVEN IF ITS FREE, (WHICH IT ISN'T BY THE WAY)" I SAY.
