Product Description:

When your new email program refuses to import your old email, the ImportServer makes it happen.

ImportServer bypasses standard import procedures by automatically hosting your old email on a local, secure email server. You then "import" your old email by telling your new email program to download mail from the ImportServer. All your old email will appear in your new email program, with all the correct formatting, dates, and attachments.

What's new in this version:

  • Autopilot mode for unattended importing
  • Option to allow connections from any computer, not just localhost
  • Ability to skip a corrupt message
  • Drag-n-drop for file selection
  • Ignores non-mbox format files when scanning folders
  • Stability and UI enhancements
  • Compatibility with Java 6 (Java 1.6)
  • Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

    • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
    • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
    • Mac OS X 10.3.9
    • Mac OS X 10.3
    • Mac OS X 10.2

    Additional Requirements:

ImportServer Usage TipMacintosh ".mbox" packages vs. standard mbox files - Version: 1.0, 5/6/2005 06:09AM PST

    weirdkid (Weird Kid Software LLC)
The .mbox files that Mac OS X Mail creates are not standard mbox files. ImportServer only works with standard mbox files. The ".mbox" files are actually a special kind of Mac-specific directory called "packages". To convert ".mbox" packages to standard mbox files, you must use our Emailchemy product.
However, some people have reported success using ImportServer on the ".mbox" packages by just skipping the files that ImportServer reports as not being standard mbox files.

Tried to install the product to move OS X mail app foiders to Thunderbird. During initial startup, importserver requests installer(me) to identify mbox file or folder of mbox files to import. When browsing to parent folder of multiple mbox files (~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/...) the mbox files are greyed out, and I cannot select the 'OK' button. When trying just to import a single mbox, the individual mbox files are not greyed out, but when I select one to import, importserver responds with the error:
"An error occurred while loading the file named "content_index". This may not be a standard mbox file.
    I am running OS X v10.3.8 and Mail.app v1.3.9
