Port Peg ReviewSlightly pointless, and doesn't actually work - Version: 1.6, 4/26/2008 02:45AM PST

    Just AJ
I'm running on Leopard and the files it produces are only 1 byte, so they're definitely not jpegs.

After I downloaded it I realised that Preview.app lets you save as jpeg, so this app is completely pointless.

Port Peg ReviewWorks as advertised - Version: 1.6, 10/27/2006 09:56AM PST

I needed something to convert PDF files to JPEG so I can read them on my NDS (with PassMe) as I believe neither MoonShell nor DSOrganize can read PDF.
I didn't figure how to convert a whole PDF quickly with Preview or GraphicConverter but this app did it fast and correctly. The remove margin option is nice since the pictures produced are smaller and fit better on the NDS screen. The quality was similar to the original file when using optimal quality in Jpeg settings.
Now, I can read ebooks in the bath ^_^

I only have a problem with the "check for update" option that always says there is a new version although I have the last one.

I just wished that the files were named with the same number of digits for the page numbers (e.g. starts at <filename>_001 and not <filename>_1 if some later files will be called <filename>_123) so they would be better organized. No big deal anyway.

PS : I didn't try the batch feature, other picture formats and thumbnail option, so my review doesn't take these into account.

Port Peg CommentaryPoor quality - Version: 1.4.1, 12/26/2005 08:38AM PST

I experienced the same problem as the previous reviewer - output quality is poor. Also notice, that this is not really "freeware" - unless you send them your email address, words "unregistered" will be placed all over your output.
