Leaves fall behind dock

If like me you are a bottom-docker, then you miss our on some of the good stuff. The leaves fall behind the dock, and every now and then you see a little chipmunk tail waving above the icons. I couldn't find a way to make the leaves land on the dock - anyone found a way of doing this? Otherwise - lovely. One star dropped for the dock frustration.
To the person who asked about "behind the dock," you could just use ClearDock to get rid of the dock background so you can see right through it.
