Product Description:

Scale to Mail is an AppleScript that allows you to drag your image files to the Scale to Mail droplet and specify a percentage value. The resized images will appear directly in a new Apple Mail message. Original files remain untouched.

What's new in this version:

Now you can define a target width to scale your images (or enter a percentage value as usual). Additionally you can doubleclick the droplet and save your preferred scale-settings. You can define a fixed percentage value or a fixed target width for example to get your scaled images even faster to your friends. A serious bug was fixed!

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or later
  • Apple's Mail.app

Scale to Mail ReviewAwesome - Version: 0.8.1, 12/10/2004 06:32AM PST

If you find yourself frequently exporting pictures from iPhoto, launching GrapicConverter or another editing program, resizing each, then "Save As," then finally switching to Mail.app and clicking "attach file" then you know why this little script is a huge time saver.

I'm holding back the final star for perfection. It's close, but not quite there yet.

Desired changes / features:

• Make it an application which self-quits after successfully performing it's task. If it were an application, the user could then set preferences. Speaking of which ...

• Allow the user to pre-set preferences for scale. Since iPhoto exports pictures at the same size every time, most users will enter the same percentage for scaling each time. Perhaps if the option key is held down when it's launched, then the scale percentage dialog box could appear?

• Allow the option to rename the picture. Just as with the comment above, perhaps another hotkey could be pressed upon launch for a rename option.

I'm looking forward to version 1.0! Keep up the great work.

The error message "NSCONTAINERSPECIFIERERROR" came everytime you dropped ONE image file on the droplet with having NO signature in mail. But now the error should be fixed! Thanks again for your bug reports. If there is something wrong anyway, any advise is appreciated. greetings nils
