Product Description:

Vault is an application for MacOS-X for securely storing information. It allows you to create 'vaults', that is, files containing data encrypted by a password.
You can use Vault to store just about any text information and image. You can cut-and-paste data into your vault where it will be encrypted and kept safe from prying eyes.

What's new in this version:

  • AES-256 bit encryption via CDSA, the same technology used by Apple's FileVault.
  • RTF styled editing, cut-and-paste from your important documents directly into your vault (including images)
  • Automatic vault closure if left inactive for a predefined time
  • Integrated Help System
  • 'Verify Me' -- a secondary method for accessing data within a vault in case you forget your password
  • Export data to plain RTF file
  • Preliminary printing support
  • Searching capabilities
  • [optional] automatically open the last opened Vault at application launch
  • Hidden 'Master password' for each vault entry allowing a password to be transferred from a vault entry to the clipboard without displaying on screen
  • Support for additional export types (plain text, utf8)
  • 'Location' field to display the exact location of a vault

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

This is my favorite app for serials and keys! The export features are great, too. Hope it's still under development. Keep up the good work!

For such a tiny user interface this is as confusing as it gets. Maybe the developer generally uses a PC, because as a Mac user for almost 20 years I cannot get the method of encrypting and decrypting to stick in my brain. What an illogical methodology. All I can say is that when you eventually get the thing to work, it asks for a password to encrypt/decrypt the file - which is what you want.

I was looking high and low for a free program to store my passwords after coming over from the PC side of things, and using keepasse. Well I have to say I have tried a few programs and just love Vault what a great program. I think the creater did an excellent job of making the program easy to use and yet secure.
Thanks for such a great program at the right price. The only thing I would like to see in the next version is a password generator included.
